THE PARTY. COMPARISONS
The First Readings series helps children acquire the habit of reading in their early childhood. It is in this stage of life when children start to discover and enjoy written words; it is thus the perfect moment for them to become good readers. This series achieves that aim by stimulating childrens curiosity about language by means of readings full of textual and visual information, along with activities to be done before, during and after the reading.
There is nothing better than waking up one morning and find out a street party is being organized. Apart from helping in making kites and participating in all of the games, a street party es the perfect opportunity to learn how to make comparisons. For example, Miranda learns that, in order to win the musical chairs game, she has to think and move faster than all the other children, and she laughs when she sees her kite fly higher than the roof. Comparisons can be really fun!
